First and foremost, thank you for your interest in joining this subbing community! I'm glad you paid a visit, and do hope you'll enjoy what I have to offer. :)

 

Second, I would like to explain in detail why I have decided to open up a community for my subs. It might be a long read, but seeing as how this will be the first and only time I talk about it in this much depth, I'd appreciate it if you could spare a few minutes of your time.

 

When I first joined the LJ Arashi fandom, I knew I wanted to sub but did not feel the need for a community. I thought releasing on my personal LJ was enough, and by having all my posts in one location, I would be able to keep track of my releases as well as my radio and magazine translations.

 

However, as it was a personal journal, I felt the need to keep my private posts locked for my f-list. In order to "protect" my subs, so to speak, I inevitably had to lock the posts, which then meant that those who were not on my f-list could not access them. Some of you may know that I do not friend back easily, and it's not because I didn't want to share (that would defeat the purpose of fansubs); it's because it was a personal LJ. Of course, I was often troubled about this because my desire to share clashed with my slow friending process. Plus, I know not everyone joins the LJ community at the same time (meaning that if you weren't active when I released, you wouldn't know of it), so that was another worry of mine.

 

To be frank, I did not think I would need a community just for my subs when I first began. But through the years, I realized that I had released quite a few clips. More importantly, I intend to continue subbing. The reason why I didn't start this community sooner was because I, too, have what we call "RL". I work full-time just like most everyone else, and honestly, I felt I would not have the time to maintain a community. I did not want to start something on a whim nor did I want to be irresponsible after having created a community. After weighing the pros and cons, though, I realized that now is as good a time as ever to open one. It was a long time coming, but I hope you can see why I took this long. And, for those who had been waiting for me to take this step, thank you for waiting, and welcome. :)

 

Now, here's how to join. I know most of you are familiar with the fandom rules, but I'm putting it here as an obligatory post and because it's kind of an unwritten rule to do so. ^^; Plus, when you comment, I will assume that you have read this post and are therefore held accountable and responsible as a member of this community.

 

The Rules:

Regarding subbed files:
1. DO NOT UPLOAD to online streaming sites.
2. DO NOT SELL subs for profit.
3. DO NOT REPOST links (reuploading files counts as reposting).
4. DO NOT CLAIM as your own.
5. DO NOT REPOST files elsewhere.
6. DO NOT REENCODE files (includes other formats).

Regarding translations:
1. DO NOT RETRANSLATE into other languages. By this, I mean that you cannot use the translations on my subbed files to translate again into another language.
2. DO NOT USE without permission.

Regarding the community:
Please be courteous and respectful of other members. I want this place to be a comfy, rainbowy community; I hope you all feel the same. :)

DISCLAIMER
(Sorry, this is the only part that has to sound mean; I wish I didn't have to say this, but): I reserve the right to decline membership requests, and modify or terminate existing members based on current or previous offenses of the fansub rules. There are serial offenders and, though this fandom is large, it is small enough that if someone catches you breaking the rules, subbers will be notified. This is also why a lot of subbers left the fandom in the past, so please be nice!

 

I won't ask you to comment on every release. It's okay if you're only here to leech (though, quite honestly, it'd be nice to get to know my members since that's how a community thrives). But please, the only thing I ask is that you respect these rules. I put a lot of time, effort, and most of all, passion, into my work. I love what I do, I love Arashi, and I really hope it shows in my work. To join, please leave a comment here telling me that you've read the contents of this post. Then, and don't forget this step, click "join community". Note: I only add LJ accounts. This means that if you are using a FB account, for example, I will not add you. And, this may be more for my benefit, but if you have anything to say regarding what you want to see in, or what you want from, this community, add a blurb in your comment. Or, you know. Spam me with cracktastic, Arashi gifs. xD I welcome public displays of affection and appreciate the love. <3 I would be delighted to hear that you all enjoy watching the clips as much as I enjoy subbing them. I'm here to share, so please respect my work and follow the rules. It's as simple as that, and that's all I ask.

Processing membership may take a while, but I ask that you please be patient. I run this community alone, and as I mentioned before, I work full-time. I will try to get back to you within a month span (that is, I will take one month at most). If you do not hear from me within 31 days (inclusive), I may have accidentally missed you. >_< Poke me again with a comment on this post only if you have not heard from me after two weeks. Commenting frequently to be added does not give you any higher an advantage. ^^;

 

Just a tiny sidenote♪ If you like my work or would like to give feedback, please do not hesitate to leave a comment in the release posts. I enjoy conversing and I appreciate your input and support. Believe it or not, I read every, single one and often comment back. Also, I'm notorious for flailing in comments, so feel free to strike up a conversation with me. I can get quite chatty. :P

Hi! I would love to join. I have read the entire post and promise to follow all of your rules that every subbing community requires, which is to view your subbed videos only for personal enjoyment and not to stream, sell, or repost.

I'm a bit frustrated tbh that I didn't find out about this fandom until very recently. My fault completely. Now I'm trying to find as many Arashi subbing communities as I can to follow, but unfortunately for me, many of them have closed memberships or just gone offline. I would be interested in reading translations on outsiders' views or impressions of Arashi - that is, staff, celebrities, or anyone else besides the members of Arashi and Johnny's Entertainment. I remember reading a translation of a scientific analysis of Aiba's voice once and it was very interesting. :)
